Trivia: how it works

Ten or fewer people sit at a table. A “round” is announced, with a general subject, such as cars, or football, or history. Then the emcee reads a question which is also projected onto a large screen. The team has 30 seconds to discuss and write down an answer on their score-sheet. Believe it or not, last year we started with one minute and it was way too long. 30 seconds is about right. The answer is then given, and teams mark their score-sheet. There is a judge in case a team questions the answer or has an alternative answer they think is also right. It has happened. Then another question. etc. At the end of the round, there is a break. Snacks are distributed. Winner of that round is announced. Then a new round begins.
