Corpus Christi Literacy Council Staff
CCLC relies on the dedication and commitment of their staff and volunteers to carry out the mission and serve the community. The staff and volunteers are responsible for a wide range of tasks, from providing direct services to clients to working on fundraising and outreach efforts.
Biography
Dr. Criselda Leal is the Executive Director of the Corpus Christi Literacy Council, where she has over twenty years of experience in education. Prior to joining the Corpus Christi Literacy Council, she worked as Director at Del Mar College. Dr. Leal holds a doctorate degree in educational leadership and has experience in ESL literacy and Reading. She is involved in the community and works with other organizations to build connections and network.
Biography
Ms. Nayibe Pena is the Program Coordinator at the Corpus Christi Literacy Council. She has a degree in Business Administration, is fluent in 3 languages, and communicates well with all students. Ms. Pena has been with CCLC for 8 years. She is well-organized and understands the needs of the students, as she herself was a former ESL student.
Officers and Board Members
The board of directors is responsible for overseeing the management of CCLC and making strategic decisions on behalf of the organization. This includes setting the overall direction and goals of the organization, establishing policies, monitoring the organization’s financial performance, and ensuring that the organization is operating in a legal and ethical manner.
